the first very high quality reproduction of the "late" XT500 alloy tank. As you can see, it is very finely produced to the design and fitting of the originals. The pictures are of our first sample which we have returned to the factory for "tweaking" prior to producing a first batch. The reasons for "rejection" were: - dressing of seam welds which were left undressed on OEM - the required addition of the two small weld lines at front and back, top surface of tank. Non-functional in our case but we want it to look authentic! - small change to curvature at front of tank. All these changes will be made to the next sample which will then be available for sale. Paint done in origanal Yamaha white, and the tank decals are painted on (as stick on decals looked horrible). First owner had for 36 years, then last owner purchased in 2008 with the intention of restoring, but never got round to. HL500 YAMAHA HL500 built by NVT at Shenstone in 1978 and being one of the last bikes off the production line. Outstanding bike in an exceptional condition with only a few minor alterations from as new spec. Starts on the button and runs faultlessly. Really nice bike to ride. Super rare bike that can only increase in value. Ideal for vintage / twinshock motocross or collection. If you can hang on to it, fire it up and take it for a blast any which way you can ! Desert racing, VMX, twinshock or AMA. If Aberg could win a championship on it and you read Dirtbike crash and burn every week, then this is the bike for you !
